![]() I CAN say it didn't work for me (It's in one of my comments above). If you have a different Anti-Virus you might have to disable it before you play if it doesnt give the ability to disable that kind of feature. Not sure if this is still a problem to anyone on this thread but here you are. not sure why bitdefender blocks this game from gettting into some files but this made it so i can launch the game without the crashing. With Bitdefender if you un check the "Safe Files" protection, it will aloow the game to launch. Originally posted by Entronnabis:SOLUTION? It turned out, Bitdefender was also slowing down my system something fierce. They'd give me a canned response and ask me to include the information on the file I think is infected. I'd tell them Bitdefender isn't taking the settings I give it to let a file run. The last straw though, was customer support. Turning off Safe Files didn't work for me. Bitdefender would error out and say it couldn't access the file it put in quarantine. What's worse is that I couldn't restore even the quarantined files. Then it started deleting files that I knew weren't infected and quarantining others I knew weren't infected. Sometimes I'd repeat the process, and it'd work fine. As I said above, I'd set games to safe, and Bitdefender wouldn't recognize it and block them anyway. Their crashes were very similar to my own. I also saw a number of people had issues with codecs getting in the way. I don't have a redirect set up unless it's a feature of Windows 10 I'm not aware of. I read on a couple of forum posts people had redirect issues. I've repeated all of the steps above in different orders. Reboot Computer (The logo lasts longer before crashing). It has been added to my whitelist for my antivirus (no change).ħ. I've gone through the forums and Google searched other forums. I added Fable to my exceptions list in my antivirus and made sure the exception was active. That's when the game crashes.ĭirect X is up to date. If I hit spacebar, it closes the dialogue box and I get to see the logo hero walking forward (with sound). The box is empty except for the "okay" button. The game loads with a black screen and immediately opens a dialogue box. ![]() I've just installed Fable Anniversary Edition and I'm trying to start it up. I'm leaving this post here, in case anyone else runs into similar. It's only ever been trouble for me, and not saved me from any true infections. It's blocked numerous programs, and deleted some I know to be safe. I will be getting a new antivirus when my subscription with them runs out. After trying everything else, and scouring for another solution, I checked again, despite having already done so, and lo and behold, it was blocked again. Everything looked good there (it was listed, and active). I went in and changed the settings so it was allowed (whitelisted) and double checked it. My antivirus (BitDefender) was blocking it. ![]() ***Edit: I spent some serious time trying to find a fix for this issue.
